I've spent 5+ years teaching Computing, ICT, and Mathematics across four schools in Ghana within the GES and Cambridge curricula, most recently at Kwajen International School. The levels ranged from JHS to IGCSE, and moving between schools taught me one thing: the same lesson plan rarely survives contact with a new classroom. What works is watching exactly where a specific student gets stuck and rebuilding the explanation around that gap, not around the syllabus page. My background is actually in actuarial science, not education. It shows in how I teach: I track performance through the term instead of waiting for an exam to reveal the gaps, then build the next few lessons around whatever the data flags. For Computing, I bring in real programming too (Python, HTML, CSS), because the subject clicks faster when a student is building something instead of copying down definitions. I also hold an ALX cybersecurity certification alongside my teaching. Digital safety belongs inside a Computing curriculum now, not next to it.
