Education of the citizenry is the driving factor behind the development of any society. It's existence has led to the massive transformation of the world right from the onset:therefore the need for people to undergo not any other education, but a better one. There is no dispute about the saying that, "If you want to destroy a society, deny it's inhabitants from being educated". This shows how vital and essential education is as far as an individual's life and the progress of the society at large is concerned.
My philosophy as a student teacher is to give students a sense of pride. In attaining this, I will make sure that my classroom will be a caring, safe, and equitable environment where each child can blossom and grow. I will allow children to become responsible members of our classroom community by using strategies such as hands on practices, role play, collaboration, differentiated instruction, varied assessment and guiding. In showing children how to become responsible for themselves as well as their own learning, I am giving them the tools to become successful in life, to believe in themselves, and to love themselves
As a student teacher, I value creative thinking almost as much as content mastery. I want students to value their own ability to think creatively, and I encourage them to use diverse ways to demonstrate their knowledge. For mastery of content and a sound understanding of concepts, it is an indisputable fact that mathematics requires constant practice, motivation and guide. I will work to the best of my ability to ensure that my learners develop this trait and consequently, give them that value of independent learning.
I believe students should apply what they learn in one subject to another subject they are studying. I work to break down the barriers between individual topics and encourage cross-functional application and transference of knowledge.
I strongly feel that the social and emotional development of students is paramount and that, good content mastery can only happen when children feel safe in the school environment. I work to ensure my classroom is a safe space for sharing feelings and allowing students to be themselves.
Education is not a one-size-fits-all discipline, and I believe it is essential that my approach is tailored to the specific learning needs of each student. I get to know the students as individuals so I can appropriately support and challenge them academically.
In addition, building a rapport with parents proves to realising a collaborative effort that helps nurtures students progress and monitoring their performance. Hence the need to establishing and maintaining a good and continuous cordial relationship with parents so that the collective development of students will be realised.
Our society is not the type that gives students the need to learn, neither does it challenge them to pursue academic exellence owing to the fact that majority of parents are illiterates, do not know the essence of education, hence do not press their wards to cling to excellence. I will, as a teacher give motivation a priority in order to let students know the essence of academia, the role it plays and the stake it holds in achieving excellence as far their lives are concerned.
My teaching philosophy is to create a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking independently. I want to help my students become the best versions of themselves by providing them with opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and receive meaningful feedback. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and it's my job to help them reach their full potential. I will assess my students using a variety of methods, including standards-based assessments, projects, and formative assessments. I will be open to feedback and adapt my teaching methods to meet the needs of my students.
