My teaching philosophy is anchored in two guiding principles that shape how I view every learner who walks through my classroom door. I. The Whole Child Must Be Well Drawing from Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart (1958), I adopt the metaphor: "When the centre cannot hold, things fall apart." In my classroom, the student is the centre. When a learner is physically unwell, emotionally distressed, mentally overwhelmed, or psychologically unsettled, the entire process of teaching and learning collapses. Maslow (1943) affirms this through his hierarchy of needs, establishing that physiological and psychological safety must be met before any meaningful cognitive engagement can occur. As a teacher, I am therefore not merely a deliverer of content but I am a guardian of the learner's total well-being. Effective teaching begins with a stable, supported, and secure student. II. Never Judge a Learner by Appearance. My second principle is drawn from Shakespeare's Macbeth (Act I, Scene IV): "There is no art to find the mind's construction in the face." This speaks directly to one of the greatest pitfalls in education that's prejudging a student's intelligence, potential, or academic capacity based on outward appearance, demeanour, or first impressions. Gardner (1983), through his theory of Multiple Intelligences, demonstrates that intelligence is multidimensional. A quiet or seemingly disengaged student may harbour profound logical, creative, or interpersonal gifts. As a facilitator, I commit to seeing beyond the surface and creating opportunities for every learner to demonstrate their unique strengths.

I am a teacher who believes that teaching must be centered on the learner. The learner must be given activities to perform. However I use instructional technology during my teaching and learning process. I also use techniques such as group discussion, presentation, questions and answers, think-pair share, whole class discussion to make my teaching a success.
